Can you believe that Fall is right around the corner? Registration is now open for The Discovery Center’s preschool programs serving 3-4 year old children. New this year: we will be offering a full-day Universal Pre-Kindergarten option for children residing in the City of Binghamton (spaces are limited so register early).
While we still do not know what the state will decide about schools reopening in the fall, we do know our school age program will be running. Having reopened our afterschool programs in May, and serving hundreds of children this summer, we know how to offer safe and healthy experiences. Our school age programs include a wide variety of enrichment activities, structured programming that supports what your child is learning during the school day, and a focus on developing meaningful relationships with their peers.*
The formats of both our preschool and afterschool programs are designed to support social distancing, extra attention to cleaning and sanitizing, and constantly staying up-to-date on best practices for operating child care programs in this new COVID-19 environment. Our teachers bring a commitment to offering educationally-rich programming that enhances learning outcomes. And let’s not forget, children at the Discovery Center get to spend their days learning in the region’s only children’s museum and our award-winning Story Garden. All of our programs are licensed through New York State.
*Should schools open in an alternate format in the fall (half days or limited numbers of days in the classroom), The Discovery Center will modify our school age programming to ensure that our wrap-around services meet the needs of the children in our care.
