The Discovery Center is thrilled to announce that our Universal Pre-kindergarten teacher, Ms.Toni Dougherty, received the Golden Apple Award given by NewsChannel 34.
She was nominated by the family of one of her former students who stated that, “She was incredibly involved with her students, and a great communicator with the parents. If there is an issue, she’s on top of it. With COVID last year, our son had a difficult time at some points, as did other students. She was supportive, talked us through it all, and gave us resources on how to help him. His dad was worried about how he was doing in class so she would send pictures of our son playing and having fun to ease his mind. She really did spoil us by being such a great teacher and person.”
Toni goes above and beyond each day and truly makes a difference in the lives of everyone that she comes across. Her and her students are truly lucky to have each other and The Discovery Center couldn’t be more proud of her!
