On Saturday, August 28, 2021, a ribbon cutting was held at The Discovery Center to celebrate the grand opening of our newest exhibit in our Story Garden, featuring the police cruiser of fallen Officer D.W. Smith of the Johnson City Police Department, NY and a Community Connection Police Station!
Children are now able to explore a police cruiser and learn the many community jobs a police officer provides. Representatives of all policing agencies were represented as relatives of Officer D. W. Smith helped cut the ribbon.
