Join us for The Discovery Center’s Annual BookFest from 10AM-2PM on Saturday, May 16 as we celebrate reading with our friends from the Four County Library System with crafts, activities, a book exchange and a child-friendly Tri-Cities Opera performance of The Three Bears.

About the 1PM performance: We invite you to the forest where you will meet Goldilocks, a lonely girl who is looking for a place to belong, and the three bears, who are upset that she has entered their house uninvited and scheme to frighten her away. Reimagining the familiar fairy tale, this opera explores critical themes of loneliness and belonging, balancing safety with welcome, and treating others with compassion–all through an interactive and imaginative setting!
