We are excited to welcome Michael Haas to The Discovery Center’s Board of Directors!
Michael is a distinguished Landscape Architect with a long history of enhancing our community’s outdoor spaces. He is currently the Director of Landscape Architecture at Delta Engineers, Architects and Surveyors. His work has profoundly impacted the quality of life in the Southern Tier, with notable local commissions including Confluence Park and the Binghamton River Trails, the Owego Riverwalk, and our beloved Story Garden.
In addition to his professional achievements, Michael has a deep commitment to community service. He has served on numerous boards and commissions, including a 20-year term on Binghamton’s Commission on Architecture & Urban Design. He has a personal connection to The Discovery Center, as both of his children, Brian and Katie, worked here during their high school years. Brian, in particular, was instrumental in maintaining and restoring our Story Garden.
Michael believes The Discovery Center is a “hidden gem” that continues to positively impact children and families. He looks forward to providing his expertise to help us continue improving our exhibits and spaces.
